What it does
ALM Toolkit is a free, open-source schema-diff and deployment tool for Power BI semantic models and Analysis Services Tabular models. It compares two models (or a model and a file) and selectively merges and deploys metadata differences, supporting agile deployment of artifacts across workspaces and environments. It evolved from the BISM Normalizer Visual Studio extension.
Why use it
Use it to deploy only the changes between two models — for example, promoting measure and structure updates from development to production without overwriting data or unrelated objects.
Getting started
Download the installer from https://alm-toolkit.com. It integrates with Power BI Desktop as an external tool.
